COSY PUBS
MODERN • BRIGHT • WELCOMING
Situated in the heart of Penclawdd village, The Estuary is a bright and modern split use building with breathtaking views over the estuary from the rooms above. It’s also one of our favourite places to enjoy a wide range of Gower beers including Lighthouse lager, Smugglers cider, Gower Power and of course, Gower Gold.
The site used to be home to the Railway Inn built on the back of the now disused Penclawdd train station. Back in the early 1800s, materials such as copper, lead and silver were smelted and worked in the village and exported by train. The site was passed from hand to hand over the years and was finally taken over by the current owners, opening its doors after a full renovation in July 2019.
Also home to the famous GGs Gelato parlour, it’s a one-stop-shop for all things tasty and Gower related. It’s the perfect place to cosy up by the fireside with a fresh pint of Power, and delicious dishes of tapas. Serving home cooked food and locally sourced cockles, it’s no wonder the Estuary is a firm favourite with locals and tourists alike.
