COSY PUBS
LEGENDARY • INVITING • TRADITIONAL
The King Arthur is arguably one of the most legendary pubs on the Gower Peninsula. Thought to have been built in 1870 by the Tucker Family, this Public House was originally called the Rising Sun and is one of the oldest establishments in the area. Located behind Cefn Bryn it echoes the name of the neighbouring rock formation, which is said to have been tossed aside from King Arthur’s shoe on his way to the battle of Camlann.
Celebrating over 32 years of award winning service, it’s one of our favourite places to sip a fresh pint of Gower Gold by the fire. Boasting 12 beautiful en-suite bedrooms, four beautiful self catering apartments it’s no wonder the hotel has won countless awards and accolades including Best Inn, Best Pub, Best Meal Out, three times winner of Best Regional Wedding venue and Best Wedding Venue in Wales.
Still family owned and run, the building was overhauled in 1991 and has continually been developed over the years. Well known for its warm atmosphere and welcoming staff, this much loved Inn is an ever increasingly popular destination for holiday makers, prospective brides and locals alike. Established in the very bedrock of Gower, the King Arthur is one of the finest traditional pubs in the area serving home cooked Welsh dishes and of course, our award winning Gower Gold.
