Gower Brewery is Awarded Champion Business Start-Up for 2012!
On Wednesday the 13th March 2013, we all boarded the train in Swansea. Our Destination was London. The House of Lords in fact. We were off to attend the final of the Countryside Alliance Awards for 2012. Having taken the Welsh Title in Cardiff a few weeks ago, we were a finalist in the Business Start-up category. A great honour to have been selected for the awards now known as the Rural Oscars.
Each of the 5 categories had 10 finalists and if we're honest, we didn't think we had a chance.
The judges panel which is chaired by Countryside Alliance Executive Chairman Barney White-Spunner and also includes the Secretary of State for Defra, Owen Paterson MP, celebrated cook, author and countrywoman Clarissa Dickson Wright, member of the Worshipful Company of Butchers, David Lidgate, the Daily Telegraph's Philip Johnston, Farmers Guardian Editor Emma Penny and Hunter Boot's Chris Dewbury, choose us as the Best Business Start-Up for 2012. Our award was presented to us by the Secretary of State for Defra, Owen Paterson MP.
